3 Reasons Why You Should Enter the Lovely Lips with Malorie GIVEAWAY!!!

Hello beautiful girls! I guarantee that by now you have heard of SeneGence and LipSense. If not, I’m here to teach you about it. It has improved the way I look, feel, and the way I kiss! These are the exact three reasons you should enter the Lovely Lips with Malorie Giveaway. LipSense is the real deal, ladies, and it took me forever to get the guts to try it but now that I have, I want you to try it, too! #1. Change the Way You Look THE SHEA BUTTER GLOSS. OHMYGOSH. It’s my favorite thing. Throughout the last 4.5 years or so, my lips have been so dry, so flaky, so crusty, so red. I have the cold Chicago wind from my mission to thank for that (not). I tried all of the tips & tricks to get them healthy again — trust me. The coconut oil and sugar with the toothbrush, warm honey, insane amounts of water, vitamins, milk cream, the Mary Kay lip mask, you name it. Most of these things made my lips worse. They would bleed and peel and I would pick at the skin because I was annoyed with their constantly chapped look. I was becoming desperate. I

3 Easy Meals That Guarantee a Happy Husband

I’m no Betty Crocker in the kitchen but in my year & three months of marriage, I have learned the value of making meals for your spouse. Honestly, it’s one of my favorite things to do as a wife. With Aaron’s rigorous work schedule, we don’t see each other much, let alone eat together. He leaves the house at 8 a.m everyday only to return home sometime past 10 p.m. (and often times it’s as late as midnight) but although it’s difficult for us to be apart all those hours in a week, I owe a special thanks to my collection of BuzzFeed’s Tasty Videos that many of us enjoy watching as well as my handy 5 Ingredient Favorites cookbook. I’ve found that as I send him out the door with any of his 3 favorite meals, I also send him with a little wifely love. They’re my favorite, too, because they are simple, quick, and most delicious. #1. BBQ Chicken Pinwheel You may be more of a homemaker than I am and make everything from scratch, but I’m totally not! One day, maybe, but for now I appreciate the refrigerated Pillsbury Crescents, Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce, finely shredded cheddar-jack cheese,

Manhattan awoke to a snowstorm that Thursday morning in January. Flakes whipped through the skyscraper canyon and a bright white coat covered all that was gray. Arctic air brought in winter’s coldest day, a single-digit wind chill, as ice formed around the edges of the Hudson River. The day was already rough for Martin Sosa, an architect, who was heading to Charlotte with his wife and kids because of a family emergency. They arrived at the airport in the early afternoon on January 15, 2009 with their four-year-old and nine-month-old and suffered through the inconvenience of security officials who insisted on checking their infant’s baby food, jar by jar. “Would you like to enter a private room for inspection?” probed the inspectors. Fifteen minutes later, the family moved on. They boarded Flight 1549, a plane that had been flying for ten years and was about to make its 16,300th takeoff. Before departure, Mrs. Sosa protested the separation from her husband and daughter who were seated three rows back but Doreen Welsh, a flight attendant, settled her down in her middle seat with her baby. The man on her left was sleeping. The man on her right coo-chi-cooed the baby,

Then Cometh Jesus Unto A Place Called Gethsemane: Why He Asks Us to Be His Hands

In The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we often discuss what it means to be “His hands on earth.” It means we serve those around us as He would serve them and we love those around us as He would love them. Sometimes we may feel, though, “Why does He ask me?”, when we know He is fully capable of doing it on His own and that He would (more than likely) do a better job than we ever would. Note, though, that our Father is Heaven asks us. He doesn’t demand us, threaten us, or quite frankly, need us. All it is is a simple asking, an invitation. If we do as He asks, we show Him that we sustain Him. We choose to stand with Him and His counsel in a darkening world. Everything He asks us to do is important, and when we do as we are asked, we are blessed. Recently, God has asked me to serve a lot. And not just me; He has asked my mom, my brother Eric, my sister-in-law Siera and my husband Aaron to serve as well. You see, my healthy, happy, go-big-or-go-home father found out on Tuesday after weeks of absolute unbearable pain,

GIVEAWAY!!!!! Increase Your Everyday Confidence with My All-Time Favorite Pep-Talk

Who (besides me) LOVES to read? If you do, let us please start a weekly book club. If you don’t, this book will change that entirely. I pinkie promise. It’s a quick, easy read and you’ll experience laughter, tears, an increasing amount of faith in Him and recognize His faith in you, and you will be encouraged to ponder your purpose as His daughter. I was introduced to this book by my adorable mom and it’s called “Does this insecurity make me look fat?” The title alone! How can you not laugh?! As women we have days where our faults, weaknesses, disappointments, and our insecurities dog-pile on us and weigh us down. Those are the exact moments we (I) dig out the Dove Chocolates from my kitchen candy cupboard and indulge in one big fat pity-party but the truth is: we are not, and will never be, perfect in this life. We know we’ve made mistakes but we also know is that Heavenly Father loves us exactly as we are. He loves us and He needs us. He is directing a great work and He hurts when we don’t see ourselves or others through His eyes. Through reading this book, I’ve

Hot Showers, Repentance, And An Eternal Perspecitve: Our Everyday Essentials

Have you ever taken a shower so hot that it sets off the smoke detector? I have, several times! And it happened again this morning. Hot showers are one of my everyday essentials because it relaxes me in an instant. BOOM. Problems, be gone. I’m talking about problems like the thousands of dirt particles that lodge their sneaky little selves under my skin and embed there throughout the day that result in many terrible, terrible things: acne, blackheads, and whiteheads. Luckily, the steam from my shower water gives all the gunk that I collected throughout the day the chance to wash away. Although life’s “real” problems still await me after my hot shower, I enjoy taking 10 minutes out of my busy schedule to stand under a nice, soothing stream of tepid water. Sound good? Of course it does. And not just because of my use of positive adjectives either! A hot shower is an idyllic beginning to a wonderful day; a day where we “devote ourselves to the pursuit of holiness and happiness” and give all we can to God. President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, the second counselor in the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,

Marriage Blesses You With Your Best Friends: 4 Traditions To Keep Them Close

There are many perks to marriage but one I’ve loved the most is the inheritance of new friends. When Aaron and I first met, he quickly introduced me to his best friends, most of which he’d had since he was a waddling toddler. I was amazed how a group of people could stick together as long as they had through all transitions of life, but even more so I was impressed with the mixture of their friendship: some were married newlyweds, some were married with kids, others engaged, a few dating, and… we’ll call him a  “single professional” (yes, Zach, I’m talking about you! 😉 ) I grew to love them and trust them all while I was falling head over heels for Aaron. Since I’ve inherited Aaron’s circle of friends, I’ve learned they played significant roles in sustaining Aaron in his happiness, his faith, and his struggles. As for my own friends, they did the same for me. Our friends made our individual lives remarkable and our relationship a reality. We celebrated with each of them on our wedding day and I experienced a heightened sense of appreciation for them. We literally wouldn’t have been where we were

Meet Marlee: 15 Little Facts You Probably Don’t Know About Me

Good morning, my friends. I am laying across my bed, flat on my stomach, slurping my kid-carton of Apple Juice watching my training courses from Start a Mom Blog wondering, “How in the heck am I going to keep doing this?” By this, I mean blogging. It’s my dream but following our dreams is overwhelming, isn’t it? There’s so much learning to be done, patience to endure, mistakes to be made, and successes to celebrate. The first mistake I have made right off the bat is doubting myself. I’ve been believing that I’m not good enough and I have nothing interesting to say. But oh, Satan. Nice try, Bucko. He is so eerily fond of watching us doubt ourselves, especially in the following areas: abilities decisions hearing answers to our prayers intelligence talents choices parenting skills thoughts intentions worth etcetera however… if we doubt not God and His ability to help us, to make us equal to our tasks, we can believe in ourselves. Just as I was about to pick up the phone to call Aaron and cry about how lousy I felt, my ears were drawn to what my blogging course instructor had to say: “People don’t follow blogs, they follow people!”

Want to Be Truly Happy? Start Your Day with a Morning Walk with Your Mom

Hey friends, how has your day been going? Mine has been full of babysitting: cleaning up messes, an afternoon walk to the park,  jumping on the trampoline, reading books at the Draper City Library, buying milk at the grocery store, cleaning up more messes, cooking dinner, giving baths, aaaand rinse and repeat. It’s nice to sit down and write for a minute. So, lets get to it. A fun fact about me: my patriarchal blessing states (and this is not verbatim): I will have “special experiences that will guide me to choosing a career that will bless the lives of my family, myself, and others who are seeking to become closer to God.” As I started college in 2011, I had specific plans to obtain a career in dental hygiene with no thought about that special promise from God. Nothing was going to stop me (except for human biology & anatomy, maybe) so I ran as fast as I could carrying these plans with me. I had always enjoyed writing and reading in high school but not once did it cross my mind for them to become my profession — until my English professor from my first semester at Utah State University

Your Freebie Guide to Ultimate At Home Exercise

Hi guys! I’m super excited about today’s post because I am giving away my first FREEBIE! Who doesn’t like free, useful stuff? Well, it’s free but I’m still clinging onto hope for the useful part. I’m a religious runner, as some of you know, but lately I’ve been thinking about why I run. I run because it makes me strong. My mind and my body are working together to reach higher goals and I’ve been craving the feeling of trying new things, like weight training. Running also makes me happy (and prevents me from causing any kind of harm against my husband. Right, Elle?!) Not only are there mental and physical benefits of running & exercise, but there are also spiritual benefits. Say whaaaat?! Yes, it’s true. Recently I came across the talk “Good Health — A Key to Joyous Living” by Barbara B. Smith from October 1978. She states, “The state of our health affects every facet of our life — our feeling of personal well-being, our approach to work, our social interactions — even our service to the Lord.” Wow. Our Heavenly Father blessed us with beautiful, strong, incredible bodies that were created to work, serve, and be treated sacredly.
